The days of NTR and ANR have gone. They remain legends and the films are stashed away in libraries as classics. Coming to our top heroes, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh..they have their own market and still continue to test their strength year after year despite the onslaught of “youthful” (our industry’s fav word) subjects. They may continue for some time, some more time, or a long time. But after that the generation next takes over. With due respect and obeisance to the star system, do you think Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, NTR are the right successors? With hiccups in their careers will it be easy for them to gather as many hits as possible in the next 10 or 15 years? Is one film enough to herald an actor as a top star? The answers might not be that simple. We need innovative thinking, stories, ideas, directors, the real power who can push these actors to a heroic level. Once that assessment is done can you zero in on one actor, only one who will be the next indisputed star of telugu cinema?Â

Earlier titles like superstar and megastar are given by magzines with a kind of voting. Now a days it is gone. Move over during the peak time chiru had 5-6 hits continuously. Even mohan babu had double hatrick during Alludugaaru time. These days having one movie in a year is great and its too difficult to make it success. Considering that Pawan/Mahesh can do may be another 15-20 movies and possibly 5-6 good hits over 10-15 years.
Jr NTR has fair chances as he is too young and he is still at early 20s. But his action reflects ego and he is closely surrounded with cast minded people or so called Nadamuri fans. Some of the producers or directors keeping him away. This makes him to loose in getting mixed talent of the telugu industry.
but for sure there wont be any stars down the line, only movies with good story or screenplay or something new would succeed.
Mahesh is definitely the next no.1.Taking a one year break is not a mistake as even Chiranjeevi took a 1 year break(1996) after repeated failures to come back with Hitler.:D If his next 3 films click well,it’ll take his star-status to huge level.At present,Mahesh’s fanbase is mainly of youth and ladies and they are the ones who can decide the B.O. fate of any film.
mahesh is currently enjoying the no 1 positon in telugu,but that would be soon grabbed by young tiger NTR.Given his age and immense talent he possess in acting and dancing he is all set to rule the industry

pawan kalyan or allu arjun or might be ram charan teja e muggurilo evari okaru number one position lo untaru because chiru alone succeeded to be the #1 the ace hero continously for 30 years kaneesam daggarlo kuda alanti copetitor ledu now pawan was also ruling for some time till kushi later bad time started for him but his collections are good for every movie and allu arjun is a good actor dancer has good awesome hits like gangothri arya and desamuduru and parugu which are industry hits and arya 2 also crossed 16 crores in it’s first week and ram charan gurinchi cheppa nakkr ledu two films only industry records whole south indian records break chesadu while it took mahesh and ntr took morethan 15 films and in industry for over 10 years so definitely ram charan is 100% number one hero two films two awesome hits lastly prabhas also has some chances he has deecnt hits like varsham chatrapathi.
