Idhi sister sentiment

2006 was a miraculous year for Telugu cinema. With many films doing well at the BO, film-makers proved yet again that if they had a great story to tell, the audience was ready to listen. The actors too worked in some rewarding projects and made us all sit up and take note.The sad part is many films of young promising actors are postponed till next year. The makers of Bhageeradha dumped all the money meant for Dhee on the Raviteja film and it was a dud. Hopefully the film will release in Feb. Also many new faces will light up the silver screen. An actor who is making his debut next year gave me his telephone number and I misplaced it. He made it a point to call me after a few weeks..’Akka how are you, guess who I am?’ I was really amused. I suddenly recollected how I pulled my colleague’s leg who worked for a local daily as to how they call the actors Annaiyya. I didn’t know till one day I caught him giving that kinda respect to one star. Well, there are many such annaiyas, vadhinas but this one came as a total suprise. So I did ask him, ‘Why are you calling me akka?’ This time it was his turn to turn blank. ‘Emi ledhi, meeru naakante peddhavaru kadha andhukane respect.’ Well boy, he’s learning the tricks of the trade too fast. He sure has a promising future, mark my words!
