Make hay while the sun shines

When producers are spending crores on making movies, paying crores to directors and hero’s, why does it become an issue when a heroine charges just above fifty lakhs per film? She doesn’t run the film entirely on her shoulders though but name atlesat half a dozen films which have worked at the BO without an attractive heroine or an item lady. As long as they are in demand, as long as the craze continues producers don’t have a problem paying them that much. Aren’t they part of the USP of the film? Can you imagine a Pokiri without Ileana or Gazini without Asin or Anand without Kamalini? The heroines do demand when the film becomes a hit but when it flops no one takes them and automatically their remuneration dips. Take Genelia for instance, no one was prepared to touch her even with a bargepole after Subhash Chandrabose. When Bommarillu happened everybody wants to sign her. Deepam unnapude illu chakkbettukovali annaru. Let’s take a peep at the current approximate remunerations of the leading ladies of Telugu cinema.
