Everyone here is a fan of some hero or the other. They read the trivia written about their heroes and carry tales to them. First sarigga chadavaru, excitement ekkuva and they carry the distorted version.
But this one I’ve heard of, takes the cake. Photos tiyyataaniki, banners kattadaniki he had collected from the hero’s fans in the USA and misappropriated the funds. Some are buying T-shirts, some are blowing the hard-earned money meant for the stars in bars and some ..address ye ledhu.
There is another type too. They take upon themselves the onus of threatening the writer. They are the conscience keepers of the association and the film-going public in general. Someone calls (this one is a die-hard fan) and questions me, “How dare you write about our Balayya Babu’s daughter…that she is getting married or how can you write that she visits subway to pick up a parcel sometimes.”
Finally there are people, fans of actors from A to Z who greatly overrate themselves because they have lost perspective of what they are capable of. The less said about them the better.
