A simple and traditional ceremony marked the engagement of Brahmani-Lokesh early this morning at Balakrishna’s home in Jubilee Hills. All the people who mattered to Balakrishna’s family were invited while a posse of security guarded the event from gate-crashers and our prying filmi journalists.
Onlookers and passers by were amused to see the photographers vying for place to capture celebrities alighting from their cars and making a quick entry into Balakrishna’s house. It reminded one of Ash-Abhi wedding and why not! Balakrishna has immense craze and today it seemed like all families in Andhra are glued to the TV sets to have a peek at what was happening in the Nandamuri family.
Contrary to reports that the engagement would be confined to family members, one saw all the important people trickle in to the engagement ceremony. Chandrababu Naidu who is normally known to be sporting a serious look was all smiles, receiving guests with his brother-in-law turned samdhi. An industry person who was invited says, “Chaala paddhathi ga saampradaayanga jarigindhi, like it happens in every home.”
