This is overzealous news reporting. First a reporter thinks that only one actress in Telugu cinema industry has a name ‘Nayanatara’ and then frantically searches for some file picture to send the news across as fast as possible that the actor’s mother was killed. Go by the report even a novice would wonder how an actor would go by foot to her dance classes on a bright busy Monday morning. The real Naynatara has switched off her mobile obviously bugged with condolence messages that she’s been constantly getting.
Another story that captured the imagination of a news channel is that of an alleged fracas between the followers of Mohanbabu and the Allu family. While both the families are blissfully unaware of the happening in Hyderabad, the news scrolled on a tv channel says the followers of one beat up the driver of the Geeta Arts unit. Apparently the row took place over a packet of biryani at a restaurant last evening. Looking at all these rumours a police official says, “Please get in touch with our control room if something untoward happens or you hear something and verify before you guys scroll it on your channels, because people might get scared.”
