Mass shower money on Maisamma

Heard only Mumait was paid for Maisamma, so obviously the film is running in profit. While Mumait looked fabulous and acted well, the dialogue writers did her in. Even for a story such as that, some good dialogues would have made the trick. Maanchi profit votchindi Maisamma thalliki. Anyway a success meet was held today. The lady someone said speaks better, confidently than a lot more heroines.

On the previous day a show was organised for the press and a few reporters stealthily creeped out of the theatre hoping to avoid the other half of the film. They were caught by the PR manager who said ekkadiki elthaaru, guruvu (Dasari) gaariki chepthaamu. The poor guys had no choice and got inside.

Cinema release ayina fourth day press ki screening enti? Unko saari choosthe opinion maaruddha? Cinema hit ayithe memu santoshisthaamu, kaani preview theatre door deggara standing chesi janalni lopalki taramadam endhi saami?

TFI lo chillara kumbhakonam

PROs are meant to look after journalists sankshemam apart from carrying out the producer’s work. They should remember that too were journalists earlier, but don’t question them as to why they switched jobs. Based on the reports of fellow journalists, I attempt to write something on these gentlemen.

Senior PROs maintain dignity. Pasupulati Rama Rao is one such man who is immensely respected in the journo community. There are other seniors too but like we say all fingers are not the same, these people are made up of different mindset and manners.

One PRO spends his own money sometimes when a press conference is being delayed and buys them soft drinks and something to eat. The big actor cum producer’s company which is branching into software hardware and what not don’t even re imburse the expenditure. There is another PR manager who gives prasadam equally to all journalists irrespective of their company’s they work in. Samaanathvam ki maru peru, manishi kooda manchi vaadu. Ee madhyane kullu rajakeeyam (involving another PR manager) ki bali ayyadu. Also note that many managers in the guise of seniority celebrate at the expense of the small scribes.

I wont comment on BA Raju’s character but he is very humane person when it comes to journalists. He sees to that every press person eats and if he senses that food can’t be arranged on time, he will tell them, sorry boss, we can’t eat with these celebs today, will arrange tomorrow.

The one who takes the cake in PRO scams is MR XYZ. He recently worked for the producer for Seema Sastry. Said he will distribute the money to all journalists but reports say many didn’t receive their amount. The producer got to know and on a speaker phone unearthed the scam worth 45k.

Last heard he’s making it up for it.  Na laanti females untaaru, cover lekapothe cover cheyyaru. O saari o national mag lo work chese lady harrased a PRO for money for writing about an actor’s daughter when she was getting married. Newspapers sangathi sare sari. If you belong to a popular paper and if you belong to a particular caste, you are most favoured. If you don’t belong to the caste but you work for the paper it’s enough.

Paper peru cheppi stashing lakhs is an old habit. But the reporters are cribbing that it’s unfair that some get more and some get less and in the process the PROs make merry. Some producers are really nice, if the film makes money they will organise a success meet and share their happiness in envelopes.

The journalists are not bad either producer paapam low budget cinema theesthunte..understanding chesukuni manchi manasu tho good reviews isthaaru, because the producer/ director has potential/talented/history of making good films.

Just not money, these PROs stoop to this level too. Some journalists took crackers for diwali from a senior PR manager and said they will distribute it. They sold it to others on a discount and made money. Whatever the experience of the producer is Mr Raju Hirwani, if you are bound to suffer on account of a bad manager you will, no matter what.

So the reporters feel it’s high time the producers make note of the dirty work of the PROs and do something about it. Like probably taking down the bank account numbers of all the journalists/electronic media and routing the money through a proper channel. Or perhaps the producer should entrust the responsibility to his aides to distribute the money equally to all.

Taking signatures and giving them will bring in accountability. If you want to avoid ‘evidence’ (At today’s pressmeet a journalist asked director Bharat as to why he showed MS Narayana talking about journalists/covers in a denigrating manner in Maisamma to which the director said ledhandi aa scene teesesamu kadha) then please suggest some measures to make the lives of journalists more pleasant. Producers vintunaara? And babu PROs, meeku pani vunna lekunna, mee percentage meekosthundhi kadha, ma kadupulu, petrol dabbulu kottadam endhuku?

O jingree PR manager katha

Nenu chaala feeling bad. A budding performer, a power house of talent, a good looking actor laanti Kiran Tej ki bheebhatsamaina anyayam jaruguthondhi. Why do we gift journalists money at press meets? Good will? Making sure that the journalist is obligated to cover the programme, you got to pakka write goody goody stories about him? yes, just about anything.

Dabbu putchukunna putchukokokapoyina oka maata meedha stand avvali. That is the hallmark of a good journalist says my colleague. But this PRO (JS) employed by Kiran Tej is making matters worse for him. Instead of making sure that all the journalists take equal amount of money at every press meet to eulogise KT, he is following the divide and rule policy.

The result is frustration. Some reporters from good publications/dailies/ mags/websites are feeling bad that the PR manager is playing dirty. Giving all useless, third rate publications full prasadam and good journos who are capable of writing and projecting KT in good light half the amount. Ikkada dabbu evaru kottesindhi, entha kottesindhi important kaadhu, evariki anyayam jaruguthondhi? Adhi matter.

“Time vosthe evaru emi cheyyaleru”

Venkata Ramana Murthy and Surya Mangala’s life was thrown out of gear last month when their son Sirish Bardwaj and matinee idol Chiranjeevi’s daughter Srija eloped and got married at Arya Samaj temple. A prolonged silence from the actor’s family, the newly married couple’s preference to stay away from hyderabad, the fans reactions, media’s speculation et al have ever since been of constant interest to the public. Sirish’s parents tell that the media played havoc with their lives and it’s high time they allowed them to get back to normal life.

Murthy and his family at the moment live in Krishe Gardens, Begumpet and he rubbishes the talk that Chiranjeevi had gifted the brand new flat to his daughter. We were planning to move in for a long time and this is not gifted. We are self-sufficient and it’s not that we have turned wealthy overnight. If there is any disparity between both the families it’s only money. Otherwise we are equally competent.

“Mangala reveals that her son told her about Srija three months ago and she advised him against the courtship. On that day like any other person both my husband and myself went to work and we saw the proceedings on the television after someone told us. We didn’t lock the house apprehending trouble from fans, we were equally shocked.

Sirish told me he had stopped meeting Srija but this was absolutely unexpected. Now that everythig is over I hope for cordial relations between the two families. Murthy talks about Sirish’s credentials, “my son is intelligent, will eke out his own living till then as parents we will support them. He’s a very sincere, honest, intelligent boy and i’m sure he’ll lead a very happy life with his wife. Eventhough Srija’s father will not give any moneytary help to my son, we are going to keep Mrs Srija very happy. I’m not expecting any money from Mr Chiranjeevi, Srija is like my daughter.”

Ask Murthy why he had not got in touch with Chiranjeevi so far he says, “I’m always positive, ready to meet him but there should be some reciprocation. What if I go to his residence and I cannot reach him, what if he doesn’t invite me in?” Has Srija adjusted in the family? “I must bow before Mr Chiranjeevi for giving his daughter such a good upbringing. She’s so simple and down to earth. I have never come across such a  beautiful girl in my life. She is very loving and caring.”

He adds, “convincing her parents for marraige was impossible, we were sure they wouldn’t accept it. But now we are planning to host a reception, we will decide the date of reception and then along with my wife and my well wisher/childhood friend K Madhav Rao, Senior Counsel will go to them and extend the invitation. It’s upto them to decide. There will no more be any fans and media involvement, it’s between the two families.”

The  couple reiterrate that they have opted to support their children as Srija’s parents haven’t responded. Also to a question as to who funded advocate Pinky Anand’s fee, Murthy says that he hadn’t paid a single rupee. The family is peeved that the Media went overboard showing the wedding clippings the entire day and even thought of filing a defamation case against them. Mangala says that the political parties are unnecessarily involving the children for their own selfish reasons, if there’s any involvement it is god’s handiwork. She adds, “ammavari daya. Time vosthe evaru emi cheyyaleru.

I’m related to Janardhan Reddy’s wife but they are no way involved in this matter. I’m very pained that they tarnished Sirish’s reputation and I was sure that truth will prevail some day. The kidnapping case is all humbug, he had gone to a picnic with his friends and when they didn’t return on time, the friend’s father filed a kidnapping case against him, which is baseless. The rest of the cases are all fictitious, all a figment of people’s
imagination. My son’s credentials are impressive, he’s a caring and a very spiritual person.”

Murthy: We will not allow our daughter-in-law to work. She is our daughter infact, ma peddhammayi.

Mangala: Sirish was very cute when he was a baby. The doctor asked us to give his pictures for the ad on the baby food boxes. I didn’t give because dishti tagulthundhi ani anukunnanu.

Murthy: We all come from an educated, cultured and a reasonably comfortable family from Saamalkot. My brother in law owns 40 acres of land, it will hardly take him a second to sign a cheque to buy this flat worth one and a half crore.

Mangala: We are not bothered what the media writes about us, ultimately truth will prevail. But at that time I was very hurt when they had spoken about Sirish like that.

Murthy: My father was the first one to construct a house in 1957 in Prakash Nagar. There is no political kutra. Mr Chiranjeevi is surrounded by a coterie and I’m hopeful things will settle down.

Mangala: We too come from an educated family, all my brothers and sisters are well settled and occupy good positions in the society. We fell in love and got married, our parents also opposed our wedding, I guess this is herditary. We have immense faith in god.

Murthy: My son will work, find a job, he has no choice but to support his wife. Till then we will support them. The media said he was in Chenchalguda jail etc in remand that is not at all true. There is not a single case against him. Even Srija’s uncle accepted it on TV.

Sirish: My name is being spelt as Sireesh, it is wrong. The correct way one is Sirish.

Control that urge

Ha ha, was reading this bit of news today.”Don’t throw garbage, spit or pee on Bangalore streets. The govt is all set to introduce litter cops. They will not only patrol the streets and catch the offenders, fined upto Rs5,000, they will also get a photograph of them in the act as a reminder.”

Draw your conclusions

This has become too boring a topic, but it’s just that I allowed myself to have a peak at Sirish’s (the person who shot to fame courtesy: Srija) family at my own sweet time. For you it might be like I’m giving them too much importance but for me it’s just a work left unfinished, another purely professional assignment that has been long pending. So just read the article that comes tomorrow and give it the burial that it deserves.

Cheerala kottu inauguration

Mamta Mohandas inaugurated a boutique this morning. Purandareswari, Rajakumari and Y Lakshmi Prasad attended the inaugural function. Quite a few people clamoured for the exquisite sarees. Mamata wore a saree given by the store to endorse the collection. My source says the actress’s mother liked quite a few sarees and even picked two or three but when she was seen heading towards the car, she did not have any carry bag. Maybe she felt the price wasn’t right. Very right. Sometimes, just not clothes even some people need to be dumped when they act pricey!
