A bunch of insecure and immature people
When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privelege to be free. Being different comes with a price. Shayaji Shinde has always spoken his mind and is politically correct. He tells TCP that the cameraman of Shool and director E. Niwas and a few in the unit are a bunch of immature and insecure people.
He says, “Everytime I would do something, these people would never be happy with my work, yeh teek nahin hain voh teek nahin hai, it would go on. Infact they would threaten me everyday that if you don’t do this, if you don’t do that we will inform Ramgopal Verma. In Sholay there is a dialogue Jab jab koi baccha rotha hai maa kehti hai beta soja gabbar aajayega. So I told Niwas arre bhai, why don’t you say this…aisa kaam karo vaisa kaam karo, nai tho Ramu aajayega.
It was ridiculous. A director should know how to extract performances, if he cannot ride a bike, give him some time, if he cannot do something properly try some other method but their behaviour projected sheer insecurity.”
