AMAV - Morning Show Muchatlu
The opening scene shows Trisha in a car instructing the driver to go ’slow’ so that she can see the showers but little do we know that the instruction is merely a prelude to a drag. However the story picks up momentum post-interval and Venkatesh with his flashes of brilliance keeps you glued till the end.
Kota Srinivas Rao has done the father act many times before and this is another one, with far more heart-breaking results. The comfort zone that Kota and Venky create for their characters’ is earthy. Selva who was crucified for his previous work is back from his sabbatical and shows he has his heart in the right place.
Mumait needs a tummy tuck and her song doesn’t dictate a large chunk of the footage. The dialogues right from the word go sound like spikes but they are real and tug at your heartstrings while the performances especially by Venkatesh and Trisha are first rate. The some what confused character of Trisha comes across effectively through her expressions and the title here is justified. Kota as the father and then a disappointed but proud man is miles ahead of the rest of the cast.
Venkatesh in his scene when his father dies brings a lump into your throat. ‘Colors’ Swathi exudes warmth, Sunil, Sriram et al are convincing. A film that every son and father would love watching together, no it’s not Bommarillu. A finely-written story that slowly moves and then holds your gaze with a generous dose of celluloid adrenaline.

“A film that every son and father would love watching together, no it’s not Bommarillu.” Not that i like bommarillu but we cant watch bommarillu with my father. For a long time i got tears in my eyes before interval where venki sleeps near his dad’s scooter.
