Climax Marindi Guru!
Did you know the climax for Happy Days was changed after the initial list of buyers shown to had condemned that it will have a negative impact on the movie. The original climax was planned like this: After Shankar sees Sangeeta dancing away with another lover on her birthday, Shankar attempts suicide.
Then Sangeeta breaks down at the hospital and has a change of heart for Shankar. She then joins the Famous Five - Appu, Madhu, Tyson, Rajesh and Chandu - along with Shankar. The feedback given by the initial buyers was that it will set a wrong precedent for students to attempt suicide. That’s how, Happy Days had a different climax! How many Directors have guts to change climax after the reels are rolled down. (Guest :Sridhar)
My reply to Leo: Yes, All my reviews are honest, impartial and abt this Happy Days…I didn’t like this film at all…Sunita.

Sridhar Garu - Many and form many years.
COming to HD, the other day it was reposted that Tyson/Sravanthi lovefest did not materialize becuase it wold send wrong singals - and Kammula was right in doing that -
Today we are talking about the Climax being changed as it would send a worng signal and you believe that it is becuase of the grit of Kammula -
However as reviewer myself - I see it differently - lack of courage on both counts - and the director/producer’s worry that it might affect the run/monetary angle of the movie. If intial buyers do not want soemthing - the man described very frequently as the saviour of TC - should have done what he has done with Anand - go for it all by himself. He has much more money than before - and by his own admission he his not here to make/save money.
Just my thoughts -

Dear Readers:
1) If this is true - and the current ending stays - would it not send a bad feeling that it is OK for girls to hang out
and indulge in two timing -as they will not face any repurcursions/consequences.
2) What message does one of the protagonists drinking in a PUB convey - does it say that it is OK for students to engage in
drinking,
3) If the brother of Sangeeta is oblivious to what is happening with his sister and on top of that encourages her to go
steady one of the protagonists - what does that convey.
Most would think stupid resaoning on my part right - looks ridculous - and I came up with this in three minutes. If we do
not enjoy the movie and keep looking for discordant notes - they are plenty - so it is NOT GUTS or Kammulas noble intention
to provide flawless movies as a service to public as being written in the media.
Just give a thought to this -
In Anand - it is OK for a person (Raja) to like and nonetheless stalk a girl(Kamalini) just after she is out of relation due to
personal problems (her attitude as opposed the her fiance’s - which she admits at the start of the movie).
In Happy DAYS when a senior proposes to Tammanna as soon as she is not in good terms with her potential suitor - it is
termed ridculous and a assualt on her character - which she mentions on screen.
Talk about fixed notions and unwavering convictions -

Happy Days is one of the most shit movies in recent times.
Shekar Kamula wants to make money in the name of youth - boys and girls loving and doing crap things in college campus.
Youth gets spoilt by watching such movies…
By showcasing such movies..a UKG student says that he wants to marry Lahiri since he has seen a boy and girl teasing each other in Happy days.
Shekar ….better get out of TFI and for God’s sake stop making Telugu movies.
I want to use more abusive words for Shekar…….Please show these comments to Shekar so that his head hangs in shame

Thanks for clearing that up Sunita. I liked the movie so much and was under the impression that the incident with Sekhar and the lady you posted back here influenced your op piece.

I have seen HD and felt that it’s good movie..
Do our movies ALWAYS give a message? may be we should look at some movies as replicating society’s real picture..we had many movies in past with college as background. but, this movie was successful in covering many more aspects of college life than just LOVE..
I think we should appreciate effort put in by so many people to give 2.5 hr entertainment WITHOUT using our brand formulae “hero, heroine, vilan, gun, cigarette, blood and tears and the ..”
It may not be the best of movies but, it was a good movie with light note….Sekhar could have lived without the techie stuff of Tison and the COCK..
and money part, who is making movies for charity? u need to staisfy all stakeholders..
