Telugu cinema position enti?
Why is it that the national awards for regional cinema are always (majority of the times) bagged by Tamil industry or Malayalam industry (at times)?
Why is it that movies like Gajini, Chandramukhi, Aparichitudu, Shivaputrudu, Bharateeyudu, Nayakudu, Bombay and majority of Mani Rathnam movies come in dubbed form and not made straight in Telugu?
Is the creativity lacking in our directors (barring a few like Sri K. Vishwanath garu, etc.) or is it that our actors here are not mature enough to potray roles of such variance. When was the last time that Balakrishnaa changed his wig for a movie or Venkatesh changed his dressing style to suit the character or Nagarjuna go bald for a character or Chiranjeevi remove his moustache to suit the role.
When was the last time that a Telugu movie, actor or director win an award at the national level. It is not great to win a Film Fare or a Nandi award when you are competing in the same industry. From the last 6 or 7 years that I started watching movies, I have made an observation that our actors change or alter a role or a character to suit them rather that trying to mould themselves (body language, dressing style, getups, etc.) to suit the character.
Even in the old generation though there were many great actors in Telugu cinema, it was Sri NTR garu and SV Ranga Rao garu who stood out and are still remembered for the variety of roles they potrayed. Hope atleast the younger and upcoming generation of actors try and understand this and take inspiration from movies of actors like Kamal Hasan, Vikram, Surya, etc., and take Telugu cinema to greater levels.
For info: From 1968 never has a Telugu actor got the national film award for best actor category, while Tamil actors have bagged this award 5 times (thrice by Kamal Hassan) and Malayalam actors 12 times (Mamooty thrice. Mohan Lal twice)..while Vijayashanti won the award for Karthavyam in 1991, Archana in 1989 for Daasi, Sharada Urvashi for Nimajjanam in 1979.
Neither has a Telugu movie won an award in best film, best director, best children’s film, best actor, cinematography category in the last 30 years..making me wonder if Telugu films are so below standards with the kind of money invested in Telugu movies, is only next to Bollywood. (Guest: Sohan)

This film got National Film Fare Award for Music Director M.M.Keeravani. And Nandi award for Best Actor to Nagarjuna and National special Jury Award. He is the only person to receive Special Jury award in Tollywood industry.

“BOMMALATA”
Mega Director K. Raghavendra Rao son Prakash Rao made a film with the name of “Bommalataâ€. It won the National Award for Best Regional Film in Telugu. And importantly the child artiste who played main role in the film won as best Child artiste award. He recieved award on par with Amitabh Bachan.

“Importantly the child artiste who played main role in the film won as best Child artiste award. He recieved award on par with Amitabh Bachan.”

Telugu audience ki many other tamil, malayalam audience ki chaala difference vundi. We basically expect entertainment from movies. awards raledani mana cinemalani takkuva cheyyalsina avasaram ledu. basic ga mana lobbying takkuva national level lo. so ravalsina appudu kooda raavu. we hav made the best pouranikam movies ever. technical ga kooda manam emi teesipoledu. paina cheppinattu chiru chesina dance nd fightings, balayya cheppe dialogues, venky chese comedy, nag chese experiments, jr ntr kunna talent, mahesh kunna looks, pawan kunna style vere ee film industry heroes ki teesipovu..

yes i agree with u sunitha
we people just think of entertainment and watch the movies so our tollywood is in dat position, our heroes just change theri style in hair, etc for the character not anything other then that like pawan(vrked for fights) and ntr(loosed his weight), our old artists still sting to industry datz y our movies r like dat
those people just act or accept movies for fulfilling producers not for a message to public or even they vrk hard for the character they just go act and give style in the set but ven compared to bollywood and other regional languages we are very much back
young artists, tech.s, directors should come as if now shekhar is working on that lets hope the diff vth this kind of directors and young people
v vl surely b better in the forthcoming dates

yes sunitha i will totally agree with u. our industry really sucks.. they are just making movies for time pass. bollywood is delivering master piece type of movies every weak. but our industry still running behind violence, faction, love, sentiment. thuu it is very shame on us.. malayalam movies are grabbing very good awards. if we can’t get awards also no problem but at least try to make some different movies instead of the routine bloodshed, senti movies… learn from bollywood or just copy from bollywood i don’t know when our industry reaches bollywood heights…
a nice topic u posted sunitha kudos to u. and the people who and all said that our industry is for entertainment and mass GET WELL SOON for them

its not da heroes or directors but da producers and da audience shud change. the directors shud stick to their guns and make what they believe in. chandra shekar yeleti after makng 2 diffnt movies had made okkadunnadu jus b’coz his previous two films didn’t collected much. dasarth after making a beautiful film like santosham made sri for collections. same is the case with heroes; nag had acted in manmadhudu which’s a gud movie then did nenunnanu a mass/bad movie.

movies are not at all meant for awards. their first aim must be to entertain the people who come all the way to theatres to have a relief. messages or awards are secondary. entertainment is primary. all that award winning actors u are talking about in tamil or malayalam - can they entertain people like those in telugu film industry? can they dance like us. can anyone win the hearts of youth like our powerstar? and dance like chiru, ntr, allu arjun, ram charan etc; can they produce an out and out commercial film like pokiri? is thr a creative director like krishna vamsi? can they produce devotional films like our raghavendra rao? already tollywood reached the levels of hollywood in film making. so dont compare with tollywood in any way. winning the hearts of audience is much better than winning awards. remember tollywood has the biggest market in indian cinema
