But this film which is symbolic of purity is not found in any frame and infact one can’t get to see the mist which the film is all about.

Sneha (Purnita) joins an art college to learn painting but most of the time she is shown singing, playing the piano and romancing her classmate Surya (Yuvraj). There is another character Payal whose job is to feel jealous and lust for Surya. It’s Surya’s birthday and Sneha wants to gift him white flowers from the forest but she is seen carrying a basket of multi-coloured plastic flowers. Four woodcutters push her off a cliff and in the next scene she is in the hospital breathing her last. The hero begs her to open her eyes and she is back to life and college. End of the story.

There is an obese Sita who plays Purnita’s mother, Sarat Babu who is her piano master and a college principal who all appear teary eyed, and have a ridiculous past. Ghulam Ali, the gazal maestro adds to the misery by singing for Sarat Babu while the actor struggles to lip sync. What absolutely kills the film dead is the acting, you get to see lust not love in the lead pair’s eyes. Instead of showing depth and profound meaning of love, you are treated to some gruesomely punishing comedy in the form of an arts teacher.The hero and the heroine break into song and dance with the drop of a hat and all one can some it up as an assault on your senses. Avoid the film like plague…

We had been to watch “manchu Kurise Vela Lo” at the Labs today. While coming out I noticed this small time actress all ears to the juicy gossip being dished out by an equally small time assistant director. For every retort of his ante every time he was boasting how he downsized  one actor (who is famous for his bad reputation), this pint sized lady was shaking his hand and laughing her guts out.

Coming 2 the film, it was just short of soft porn. Cinema is set in kodaikanal ani producer chepparu, akkada chaala challaga untadhi, manchu padthadi ani. There was no trace of manchu at all. Allari Naresh and Sivaji would seem to be a pretty good bet to throw off some laughs, wouldn’t you think? One of these people should have been able to do something to save Pelli Kaani Prasad but that doesn’t come close to happening because, quite simply, this is one bad script. If director Satyam had been able to give it some pulp, or occasionally display a sense of humor, it might have promised a reasonably decent audience but a pathetic screenplay mars that hope too.

Gopal Rao (Raghuvaran) loathes girls who elope and marry against their parents wishes and as such wants his daughter to marry someone of his choice but is shocked when his daughter Sujata (Sridevi) expresses her love for a vagabond Varaprasad (Naresh). Like a dutiful daughter she marries Siva Prasad (Sivaji) and then the story moves on without the steam never building up. Suddenly there is a twist which lands on your head like a cat falling out of a tree.

With regard to the performances, both Naresh and Sivaji are not as bad as many people think. Infact they are the saving grace, they do a good and credible job. Naresh’s role did not have much substance and all he does is crack jokes that falls flat. Post interval Sivaji’s character is only somewhat more fleshed out, but only in one real direction.

Overall it’s a lousy plot and disastrously directed. Wonder what made the director settle for Tulasi and Raghuvaran when there are so many character artistes languishing in the telugu industry. About Sridevi, it’s unfair to say she cannot run around trees. With cardboard dialogue that sounds like bad first draft material, a painfully inept screenplay, and technical aspects that flounder the director just tosses Pelli Kaani Prasad in front of the camera with no help whatsoever.

Back 2 biwi no 1 ani two days back I posted, and now people tell me Dasari’s son was kidnapped today. The unit kept cracking jokes that day that he had gone back 2 his wife.
