Janaki is 15 years old. She lives in Jagadgirigutta with her six siblings and her parents. Her father is an auto driver and mother makes a living by selling flowers. Janaki studied uptil 4th standard and her father stopped her from going to school as he couldn’t fund her education. The teachers at DRF convinced the parents and since last year she has been coming to school regularly. Sometime back she was not seen at home and school, and on enquiry it has been learnt that her mother is taking her along to sell flowers. She had decided not to send Janaki to school anymore because a neighbourhood girl eloped with a boy and she fears her daughter might fall into bad company if sent to school.

@chiluka: yes, she studied till 4th and quit bcoz of her father. A NGO put her in an open school. having forgotten everything, she is going thru the process of re-learning.
