Grandiose dream

An ex actress who owes allegiance to a political party had a torrid affair with a director’s son. When he called it a day and decided to wed a suitable girl, the actress threw a fit.  The director’s son who is now an actor was so terrified by her threats that for the reception he got his dad to arrange a security ring apprehending trouble. Now the lady has shifted her eyes to something more profitable, she now nurtures a dream to become a chief minister of the state some day. High hopes!

Youth in politics

Many politicians say that there is need for the youth to join politics. Do you think the youth should join? Most of them don’t have money, goons or a famous family to back them. When education, a career is the dire need, throwing away precious time hanging around the corridors of power hoping that some day they will become a neta seems ellusive. Probably Rahul Gandhi,  or PJR’s son or Jyotiradtiya, suhasini maniratnam’s son (heard he’s nurturing an ambition 2 join politics)  have a famous lineage/backing and for them it might be easy. For others all this has one single route. Money 2 gain power and power 2 gain money. Any young man wanting to have a good life and a better country will be dissapointed as winning a poll is not so easy. The formula is always hook or crook!

I have known people, who have degrees in soft ware but have fallen in debts to contest, get into a party. when someone’s ambition in life is to own a bike/car or atleast get a job which enables them to pay their monthly bills, will he ever be able to do all these things if the moment he passes out from a univ, joins a political party?

Assistant directors cry foul

Most of the directors in TFI have around 6 to 8 assistant directors and all of them don’t carry a the union card with them.  Union members who work as assistant directors draw less than 500 per day and if they complain, they don’t get to work in the next film. If they protest another asssitant director is taken and this time he/she is a recommended candidate. Most candidates come to the sets with recommendation letters most prominently to work for VV Vinayak.  These letters are from either top producers, directors or a lady minister who is from the government. These new people do not form a part of the union but draw high salaries.  Except for Rajamouli it’s heard none of the directors treat their assistant directors generously. Ask any union head for a comment and they will say, what more can we do for them? Aren’t we giving them breakfast, lunch, travel expenses etc. Kontha mandhi previous month salaries, and even three or four month wages eggodthaaru. Those who come to check if the set assistants have cards or not don’t bother to tally the names that appear on the credits of the film and those that appear on the work sheet.

New entrant to telugu films - Aditi Sharma

http://www.hindu.com/mp/2008/07/29/stories/2008072950360100.htm

It’s 3.00pm and Aditi Sharma wants a few minutes to nibble before speaking to the Metro Plus.  “I’m late for lunch, just back from hearing a narration of a Bengali film,” she says. The beautiful actress has finished shooting for Gunde Jhallumannadhi, her debut film with Uday Kiran. She is currently chalking out the next course of action. The pretty looking Punjabi from Lucknow was spotted, selected in a Zee Talent Hunt in 2004 and she instantly bagged two films, Khanna And Iyer, and Black And White – a Mukta Arts production.

The actress says she met Madan the director of Gunde Jhallumannadhi and  a few others too but chose to work  in the former’s film as she was absolutely enamoured by her character. Even after pack up is announced at seven, she says she would write down all her dialogues for the next day and get it translated. Aditi adds, “I wanted to look every inch a telugu heroine, so I memorized, emoted and lived the role till the film got over. My director would forget that I’m alien to the language but towards the end of the shoot, I got a little comfy with the language and he  would come and explain the scene to me in telugu and would ask, “you got it?” and I would instantly say Yes!.

She explains Gunde Jhallumanadhi is the feeling one gets when you fall in love, it is dil ka masalna at first sight. I play Neelima, a simple person to look at but she has too many things on her mind. It’s a musical love story and there are scenes that themselves create a comedy.” She heaps praise on her co-star Uday Kiran and says that he’s a very sweet and a charming person, very passionate about his work and very focused. She had many apprehensions before coming to the South, whether she would adjust to the work, and wasn’t sure if she would sign more films but now by the end of this project Aditi is more than convinced, that she is here to stay.

Aditi means “mother of  the Sun God’ she explains and adds that her most memorable moment while working in this telugu film was that’s he had to stay put for more than forty five minutes on a harness for a shot in Chikmagular. She says, ‘It was some technical issue, I had to be elevated on the crane and believe it was so much fun.”  The actress  thinks that she needs no exercise after all those dances in the shootings as the steps  in telugu film industry is far more lively, energetic . She nevertheless swims everyday for half an hour and has joined classes in Kathak. She adds that she makes the most amazing cakes but tries to be very happy always which is a good and probably the best exercise.

Poll is a farce

That the industry has been divided, polarised on account of caste is being propagated and blown out of proportion. The nine important people resigned and most of them didn’t exercise their vote, some switched off their phones. The chamber is plagued by egos and other unnecessary things. A source says KS Rama Rao is a good person, honest, straight forward but when it comes to taking decisions he doesn’t listen to anyone. Also he is said to have informed a few people that he is contesting for the chairman’s post 4 months back. He is backed by Kalyan who has more following (than KSR) of small producers.

Right now many don’t have confidence in the present body and those people who opposed have asked for a secretary’s post. All the small producers under KS have no credibility. Example one of them is a member of Jagan Yuvasena who has a case against him. Okariki bore neelu pattukuni bottles lo amme history unte unkokariki 6 or 7 days lo oka cinema teesi release cheseddham, guiness book ekkudam ane korika unna vaalu unnaru. That is to say they have lack of experience, vision.

The other contestant was Shekar Babu  who has Bangari’s support (Superstar Krishna’s brother). Sources allege that this man though working in the Congress has collected funds/donations for the TRS. This is news for me too! Aayana cheppina manishi ki post raavalni his feeling. Ee chairman’s post is a thankless job, deentlo oka paisa raadhu :) and it’s just an ornamental piece but wonder why so much noise about it? The main loser is poor Aravind who’s getting bad press.  Paper lo vocchina vaartalani kandinchataniki meeting undhi 3 pm ki.

Aravind ki takkuva votlu vocchayi, dheeni meedi psychological prabhavam politics meedha untundho ledho TV9 visleshana etc etc has to wait or has to be wound up as this chamber stuff is purely an administrative affair. All we can understand is that the votes don’t have importance and kSR ki antha suport ledhu ee vishayam lo. Plz enlighten if you have some more news on this.

On the other hand those who support KS Rama Rao say that Aravind is never available on the phone, he is reachable only if the person is of some use to him/them. The source adds “Postlu kaavali kaani panulu evaru cheyyaru. No one is interested in the welfare. Look at Shahji, the person who is incharge of Chiranjivi’s costumes for years is in a bad state today.”

Parimal is ready to spread fragrance

http://www.hindu.com/mp/2008/07/28/stories/2008072850830100.htm

Parimal is just eighteen and he is wrapping up his debut film in telugu Lechipodhama. Movies didn’t happen to him by chance, eversince he was a child he wanted to become an actor and started to learn dancing. At the age of ten, he joined Swingers, and he’s been with Shiamak Davar for four years doing shows. But when he got the opportunity to work as his assistant, he dropped out as he had to do a course in Digital film Making.

The exuberant and sprightly debutant giggles as he tells, “please write good things about me, this is my first interview and please don’t ask me the story of the film. My director has given strict instructions not to reveal anything. Usually if someone asks I’m more than willing to narrate the entire story but this time I can’t.”

Parimal is actress Sangeeta’s brother and during the making of Na Oopiri, the actor met director Kanmani and that’s how things got moving. He says his parents are very supportive and gave him the option to choose between academics and films after his high school and he chose the latter without any regrets . The young man reveals that there are no professional discussions with his actress sister and she never counsels him either. All she is concerned about is his lazy habits and wants him to hit the gym and go to the sets on time.

The actor diligently explains, “The first three days I reported early and was on dot at 6.30 am but then I noticed that none of the members in the production team came on time and I was there twiddling my thumbs. So now I be there by seven.” He adds that he is in love with the role given to him and hopes that the telugu audience gets generous and accept him as an actor. Sandhya of Premiste fame is Parimal’s heroine and the actor says she is a fabulous co-star, she had called him and wished him before the film took off.

Is he composing his dances in the film? No, says the stubbled actor. He opines he is more comfortable and happy doing songs more than scenes. And he even felt shy, stumbled doing romantic scenes for the camera. Parimal is temporarily sporting a tattoo on his shoulder and it reads, SRK. He is a die-hard fan of Shahrukh Khan and talks nineteen to the dozen about him. Parimal means fragrance and he was named by Rajinikant.  He says, Dad and Rajinikant know each other for 30 years now. When I was born he came to the hospital and named me. He was apparently working in a film called Raghavendra and was donning the role of Mr Parimal Acharya.”
