last year when PJR died there was bi-poll and JP’s candidate lost the deposit. If you cant convince a small segment of voters how can u ask the rest of the state 2 vote 4 u? He is an IAS but practically a political novice with no party network or idelogy. His statements lack consistency and you often get 2 c him contradicting himsself. He holds an mbbs, worked for the state as a dist collector, as a sec did some good things as a bureaucrat, he belongs to the same system/set up, how can he criticise the same vyavastha? how can u say itz wrong? one should show ur calibre, ur programmes in action, set an example and then stand for election. What he needs to do is to educate his voters, what we see is his political ambition not work. Itz nice 2 see or hear his interviews and views on tv channels but that’s about it..we have had enough of political leaders, their roadshows and tamashaas (i mean all leaders) what we need is a statesmen.

What u mean is no one should question the traditional parties. They can do what all they want and if someone questions them , then that is a big mistake?
First of all I am sure that JP’s candidate didn’t lost deposit.
Presently the masses are not convinced about the idealogy of LOKSATTA. They think that this party can not survive among other parties because the way they function.
But I and most of the young educated people of our state definitely feel that the change will come and LOKSATTA will be the party that’s gonna bring in that change.
I just want to suggest that if you don’t feel like supporting JP or LOKSATTA, don’t do it.
But can you tell me what other parties are good at. I mean eppati varaku em chesarani eppudu chesthaniki ee so call traditional parties.
Atleast Loksatta is having good, clean policies.
Vere parties anthantha karchu petti gelisthe entha gelavakapothe entha. At the end of the day they all suck each and everyt drop of blood from the people and make crores and crores of money.

Why r u after JP.
U said he is a political novice. But take others in the TDP/congress what they have done being very experienced ones.
Just amassed crores and crores of rupees for themselves and their relatives.
Which party has an idealogy; Just tell me which one has an better idealogy than LOKSATTA.
He has shown many a things in action within his own capacity and LOKSATT capacity.
Atleast he is not doing big sabha’s just by spending unaccounted money and not into any usage of cine glamour.
ALL parties talk trash in all the meets, they just talk everything except on how find solutions to the problems.
Plz don’t try to throw stones at others who are atleast
trying to do something good.

Participation itself is big achievement when PJR died. You should not ignore that they are in second position (First PJR son, second Lok Satta, third TRS). Considerably the current political situation & unawareness, it will take many years to overcome symapathy sentiment when someone represents on behalf of his relative’s death.
What ever opinion you have about him, it does not matter to me, but his speeches inspires/motivates youth & many educated folks.
If people wants to give chance to Chiru why not to JP..
Ofcourse, No one is perfect.. its all on what basis we support them (atleast we should evaluate on comparative basis)

Hi Sunitha,
More posts i see, more of your lack of understnding is coming out.
@He is an IAS but practically a political novice with no party network or idelogy.– I do not think he is a plotiical novice having worked as a Secratary to CM, he is worked very close to powerful position you and me can ever be.
He holds an mbbs, worked for the state as a dist collector, as a sec did some good things as a bureaucrat: After doing MBBS , he could have gone to USA or joined a corporate hospital, instead he choose IAS to serve people and on your own account he did good things there.
Having worked and seen the system from very close quarters, he is more qualified than me and you to critise it.
Truth to be told, what you and most people in AP wants is Tamasha and entertainment in every aspect be it from politicians or Cine people and which i guess is coming and will continue to come from Cong and TDP People.
What i see is from JP and Chiru is there are the ones who are talking real policies not anyone else..
Did u observe that in telgana trip Chirenjeevi addressed local issues and what he can possibly do..It is debatable whether he will do or not.. When did u see this from any politican last time?

There are many corrupt leaders in the state. You have left all of them and attacking this man. He is one I can see who talks of solutions instead of problems.
May be he is for power, but what is Chiranjeevi, CBN and YSR for? If you want to vote for CBN and want to see him as a CM, its ok. Every one has their opinions.
Why don’t you tell how much money is spent by all parties (including lok satta) in that bi-poll.

Hi Sunita
I have to agree with the opinions expressed by a majority of the people here. You are wrong on this one for sure. Show me one really educated and more qualified leader than JP among all these so called leaders asking for our votes. What exactly is the qualification of a Balakrishna or Chiranjeevi, or Rajinikanth or a Mohan Babu? I am apalled that these grease-paint donning wolves in sheep’s garb are still fooling the people. I dont blame them though, I blame the people for rising them to the pedestal they really really dont deserve. You think they know anything about anything? The only numbers these unmitigated fools know are the phone numbers of pimps, statistics of actresses and wannabees they want to bed and their hidden bank accounts. Where else in the world but Andhra do we have a thug masquerading as political leader who shot two people point-blank and is walking scot free. Show me one person from the whole Nandamuri clan who is qualified to be a true leader. These morons act as if it is their god given right to be leaders and chief ministers. Heck, a styrofoam cup has a higher IQ than these stupid film stars. Just because one is a Kamma/Kapu/Reddy doesnt give anyone the right to lead the state. The Chiranjeevis, Rajinikanths, Balayyas and Mohan babus of this world think they are god’s gift to man kind.
I have been following JP for a while and heard him talk here on National Public Radio (NPR, a very prestigious and objective organization here in the US) and this man really comes off as a learned person who knows about the state of our State. Atleast, he need not be coached by sycophants about the issues to talk. You see how moronic Chiranjeevis and Balayyas and their ilk are? They need to be coached about issues. Why? Are they not educated enough to read news papers and form their opinion (that is they know how to read!!). JP is in a better position and has the locus standi to comment on the positives and negatives of governing. Only because he has been there and seen the strengths, weaknesses, loopholes and the qualifications of the murderers, thugs, robbers, rapists whom we elect as leaders. Dont tell me these films stars and other morons from TRS/TDP/Congress and PRP running for leadership can ever ever get to pass the MBBS, then IAS with flying colours. I am glad there is a person like JP who is talking about the problems, issues, solutions and the potential of the people and giving them hope to confront them and rise up in life.
JP may not become a chief minister over night. He may not have the ill-gotten wealth, obtained through extortion, evading income taxes and by plainly fooling the people. He is succeeding in educating the people and changing their mind set, which is the first step in bringing a revolution. He is building the grass-root support needed to bring the change. It will take time, but a change will definitely come when we elect leaders not based on their caste and wealth but by their vision, qualification and the content of their character. I hope that day is not far.

The shame of Loksatta losing deposit lies with Kharitabad people not with the JP or Loksaata. However it proved one point at least there are 60,000 people in Kharitabad who use their brain while voting.

one more point, you simple said JP contradicts himself but did not give an example, perhaps you could not find. Finally, M.B.B.S and IAS are any way better than land grabbing and filthy language in public life, if you think other is better you should live medieval days not in 21st century.

Goodness gracious me!!!
A totally immature article.
Sunita garu, I am going to give constructive feedback to your article.
1) Please watch this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJkGIrRFkho
This provides you a better understanding about Dr JP
2) The reason I called your “article” to be an immature one is firstly because you have called JP and Lok Satta to be a party without ideology.
Dr JP has always mentioned that Education, Healthcare should be available to all citizens irrespective of their birth(whatever religion, caste, gender…)
Reforming the election process, the mindset of people are part of his objectives. Lok Satta is based on a strong ideology.
Now dissecting every sentence of your article
Last year when PJR died there was bi-poll and JP’s candidate lost the deposit. If you cant convince a small segment of voters how can u ask the rest of the state 2 vote 4 u?
Lok Satta put up an Associate Professor Mr K Srinivas Rao, a man of great integrity and civil society activist.
In the recent past, how many highly educated people have you seen taking part in elections? Is it not good politics, is it not reforming the election process, is it not awakening people and making them part of electoral process.
Lok Satta lost deposit, however took the second spot getting more votes than TRS, MIM. Lok Satta is the lone party which contests elections without distributing money or liquor. It does take some time to transform the mindset of the people. Patience is a great virtue which Mahatma Gandhiji asked the entire nation to imbibe.
Also, the fact that the by-election was held on account of Mr PJR’s death led to sympathy voting. Mr PJR was a labour leader and politician since 1967. So obviously, it is not easy to achieve certain good things which a politician did for the past 40 years within just one year.
He is an IAS but practically a political novice with no party network or idelogy.
I request you to please watch atleast one of the several youtube videos posted on Dr JP. You will get to know a better picture about him. By no means is he a political novice. Saying him to be a political novice is another big joke. He knows in and out of the electoral system, political parties in AP and India. Since 1997 he has been working relentlessly towards bringing in change in the mindset of the people. So, not only does he have experience as a bureaucrat but also as a social activist.
His statements lack consistency and you often get 2 c him contradicting himsself.
Another spit and run case! Just make some comment without corroboration.
This is an atrocious baseless statement. He is a man of immense probity, utmost integrity and great clarity.
He was the Chief Secretary of the State and was the member of National Advisory Council. He could have easily got Rajya Sabha seat, Foreign Secretary and Vice President etc etc positions. If he had just political ambitions without intention of serving people, why would he be working with Lok Satta NGO since 1997. He could have chosen any lucrative career, not this hard path.
I am feeling sad that a respectable newspaper like
“The Hindu” publishes movie reviews written by such an amateur writer who does not put in effort to know things before writing.
Just because you want to improve your writing skills or blog does not mean you write trash and give vent to your feelings.
Not appreciating good work is a sin and deriding good work is a cardinal sin. You have indulged in a cardinal sin.
Please go through Dr JP’s biography or article published in
The Hindu’s Business line http://www.loksatta.org/images/august%208,%202008_Hindu_BusinessLine_Dr.%20JP%27s_profile.pdf
Even if you donot spread something good about Dr JP, it is forgiven but not spreading wrong and incorrect information.Hope you update your site with better and accurate content.

I don’t think that even a single person who have written comments here about JP have a Vote. But I have a vote and did vote for LOKSATTA in the Khairatabad by-election.
I felt sorry for voting LOKSATTA after seeing the results and decided to never vote for them again. Nobody can change the murky politics in India.
It sounds good to hear when JP says something, but nothing is possible in practical. Every one of us are ready to hear it and have a soft corner for him which is of no use.
Are every one of you ready to follow the rules?
(Small things like
Triple riding and riding without helmet on a two wheeler, Not having pollution check and Insurance for vehicle,
Bribing for Driving license or any other govt certificate, Showing fake experience and fake pay slips for a job,
Not filing IT returns and trying to escape tax,
etc….
also come under breaking the rules and going against law.)
Let me know if there are any who are ready to follow the laws or already following all the laws who got gnanodayam by hearing to JP.
I am not against to JP. I personally like him very much. I am against to people who praise JP which is of no use. Try to start from your end before commenting others (politicians, actors).
I have seen ppl commenting about the educational backgrounds of politicians and actors comparing with JP. Educational background is not a mandatory thing to think good and do good.
What are we ppl having and doing from our end? Are we really good enough to comment the politicians and actors who have achieved atleast some thing or the other in their life?

Dear Blogger,
Can you give an example, a single example of ‘he contradicts his statements’ ?
Katari Srinivasarao, Loksatta Party candidates in the bi elections stood in secound place and he managed to get 50 thousand plus votes with out spending even 50 lakhs of rupees which is very much lesser than the amount thats officially permitted by the election comm. Mind u, 50 thousand votes. Change requires time. It doesnt fall all of a sudden from the sky.
How can you comment the system being part of the system ? This is a very immatured statement. Do you scold your son if he leads a wrong path or just relax thinging that u r part of the same family so can’t comment it ???
Yours is half knowledge about JP or Loksatta. Visit the party office in Basheer Bagh to know more, or atleast http://www.loksatta.org .
Have a nice day,
Thanks
