Dr Rajashekar: I punched them really hard

Dr Rajashekar is in high spirits. Everything seems to be going on well eversince Evadaithe Nakenti became a hit. His next movie Gorintaku completed 100 days in many centres and has been touted as the best tear jerker in years. Talking to Metro Plus, The hero says he had second thoughts about doing the kannada remake as it was loaded with sibling sentiment but when his domestic help and his children kept watching the movie every day he had resolved to buy the rights. “Balakrishna saw this and found it crappy. Many had doubts about it’s prospects at the box office. They thought it was more or less like Arjun’s Puttintiki Ra Chelli.  I cried after watching the film and was sure it would move men too,” he adds.

The actor opines that in the history of south Indian cinema he must be the only man to use bottles of glycerine for the camera. Many people told me that only two actors Kamal Hassan and me look handsome when we cry on screen, that is the reason in every movie the filmmaker invariably weaves some melodrama .” The actor now has mastered the pulse of the audience and reels of the titles of films that have worked at B and C centres and says he trusts his instinct.

Satyameva Jayate is not a remake of Khakee, only a few situations have been inspired. After Aagraham, Ankusam there hasn’t been a film that was completely filled with action, energy and the inimitable one-liners of Rajashekar. The actor says the upcoming film will bring back the glory of cop characters he played years back. The film has been correctly timed, aimed at terrorism, police department and the bomb blasts that took place in the city. The actor had done his homework, he had visited the Lumbini Park a year after the tragedy struck, and read all the interviews, paper clippings of the related incidents and spoke to the relatives of the victims. The charged actor gets up from his chair and enacts his action scene and shows how he kicks and slaps the terrorists. He quips, “I feel sorry for those actors who played the terrorists, I hit them really hard.”

Jeevita is directing this film, her first venture was Seshu. The couple is releasing the film in January as they have planned to devote their time for their new real life role in politics. I’m spacing my film interestingly, after Satyameva Jayate, I have a subject ready and that will be make you totally gooey eyed,” signs off the actor…..

  1. No comments yet…

Sunita, It looks, News on Rajashekar does not sell anymore.

  2. ekanga Kamal Hassan tho polcheskuntunnada…
ruling party backing undi ga..emaina anesthadu

  3. Veyyimandhi (1000) rajasekhars vacchinaa balayya babu ni emi cheyyaleru.

  4. maa annayya rajasekhar kalasi seema backdrop lo dasari cinema modalu avutonda!

    dasari prp lo eppudu cherutunnaru?

  5. jeevitha seshu direct cheste enti goppanta… seshu lo tamil lo eppudo super hit ayyaka same to same copy kottadam kuda goppena…
RS vishayaniki vaste monna chiru tho comparing (political ga iddaru yes novice, kani films wise nooooo), ippudu eekanga kamal tho… cloud 200 meeda unnadu… nooti durada bane ekkuva

  6. Kamal acted with good directors and acted in great movies and got recognition he deserves. problem with rajasekhar is that he acted in more bad movies than he did good movies.

If you watch climax scenes in movies like Akka Mogudu(fighting scene with broken hands), Aagraham and Sivaiah (entire court scene) and few scenes in Ankusham ( when Jeevitha character got killed) and Anna ( when brother character got killed) and few emotional scenes in Magadu you will agree that Rajasekhar is the only actor who can match with Kamal as for as emotional & drama scenes are concerned. and I think he is not wrong comparing himself with Kamal. it is a fact.

over all as an actor (as an all rounder) he is not comparable with Kamal. rajasekhar as an actor has his limits and has his strengths.
as for as comparing with Chiru, watch both Ankusham original and Hindi remake Pratibhandh and you know who is a better actor. I think same rule applies here, over all he is NOT a better actor then Chiru( Chiru can do comedy & mass acting better than any one) but he has his strengths and can do better in some areas better than any one.

any way thanks for the interview Sunitha.

  7. well i disgree… the weight of RS character is saikumar… he experienced a bitter downfall after saikumar stopped dubbing for him…that itself shows he is not a complete actor. he might be a good actor but give me a break, there is a lot lot lot of weight only with sai kumar’s voice… please dont compare something remade in hindi…hindi movies viewers dont encourage same levels of expression as in south. comparison with kamal is out of question. chiru - ankusham tho kakunda compare cheyadaniki chala unnayi…not just something remade in hindi…and for all the scenes pointed above for praising RS, please revisit them with his voice… RS is not a bad actor…but he doesnot deserve so much… selecting good scripts like kamal does is an important quality of an all-rounder. To compare with a megastar…u got to be a trendsetter…

  8. FYI - Shivaiah ki Saikumar dubbing cheppaledu.

  9. and other scenes I have mentioned like akka mogudu , anna do not have any dialogues. just expressions.
