E saari eco friendly ganesha

My roots are in khairatabad, having born and brought up in this place i have a strong connection with the khairatabad ganesha. Every year we stare in awe at the mammoth and imposing elephant god and gloat over our it’s size and boast about our area’s laddu’s being auctioned for a fancy price. But that’s only for a few days. Aftermath the celebrations, the immersion our sorrow when we go through the tank bund or fly over is inexplicable. The plaster of paris, the rods, flowers, plastic papers floating on the water makes it an ugly sight. While on one side machines, trolleys are ready to pick it up the next day, a lot of damage has already been done. Murrels, fish have lost their life. the water has become polluted with the chemicals and the buddha silently stares at the rape of the water every year. Every now and then there is a proposal to shift the location for immersion or usage of eco friendly products to make the ganesha, but it falls on deaf ears. The BJP is like a thorn in the flesh which is constantly opposing every move (to do with ganesha) which is in the interest of the city, thank god for small mercies this time our khairatabad ganapati is nature friendly.
