Elephantine problem

Hey some more interesting stuff I read this week. A dozen buffaloes blocked the lifeline of Navi Mumbai for almost an hour recently. The act seemed to be an instant protest against the fatal hit and run of a buffalo by a speeding vehicle.

Do you remember Jayalalita gifting an elephant to the temple down south. I didn’t know that there were rules for gifting. The law says that “no wild animal can be gifted unless they are inherited. Even in cases where donation is permitted, it cannot be done without the permission of the chief wild life warden of the state. In such cases, the owner of the animal must declare insolvency and incapability of taking care of the animal. So CM Yeddyurappa’s offering of an elephant to the temple in kerala happened without declaring himself an insolvent (which he is not) has landed him in a spot.
