Indian students dharna

A student/taxi driver was stabbed several times in Melbourne a couple of days back. Following this incident, around 300 taxi drivers, most of whom are of Indo-Pak origin, staged a dharna opposite Flinders St Station. The state government has now agreed to install cabins to raise the security for the cabbies. While that comes as a minor relief, something needs to be drastically done to lessen the burden of the student community in Australia who work hours together sometimes in two shifts to pay the semster fee. The worst part is the Indian residents who exploit the students who approach them for part time jobs. The Indian Consulate in Melbourne is well aware of the problem but they choose to be diplomatic.

    akkada exploitation emundhi?
    students who go there on student visa produce false Bank/income statements to get the visa. After going there they want to work illegally (more than what they are supposed to do) and pay the fee or send the money back to home. No employer will entertain this except our desi’s. Desi’s take risks to give the jobs to students and benefit out of it. I feel its a win win situation

    @Ravi: I am a witness and have first hand info abt new students who work as part time employees and get paid 2$ per hour or nothing at all in Melbourne.

    When time is bad, Suck it up and Dont complain.
    When you get opportunity, Milk the cow, like there is no tomorrow.

    One thing every one need to understand is, whether we are in india or Abroad and we work our ass off to get better quality of life. Dont think people going abroad and lucky and life is set when they get visa.

    what for ? exploitation jaruguthundhi but you know why most of the student go to Australia , cause its easy to get there.Majority of them are not willing to put some effort to do better in GRE and TOFEL and aim for countries where universities will provide assistantships.You know most of them very well know that they have to get money through these illegal jobs much before they catch flight to australia.Ravi cheppindhi correct .Its a win win situation.If by seeing the news in your blog (suppose kanaka , vuthuthi ke)The Indian Consulate in Melbourne tries to take some action first ninnu tittedhi akkadi students ee.For ruining everything. Believe me I am also a witness. The best way for Indian Consulate is to convince universities to provide some kind of assistant ship programs or in college jobs to the international students .THE END

    US or AUSTRALIA ki velle tappudu u need to show proper financial documents that u hav money to support ur study for the whole period of education. Avi untene vaallu VISA isthaaru.

    Ofcourse mana daggara antha undadu kaabatti, fake pettesi vellipothaam.. manchi univs ayithe funding isthaayi. Ee madhya adi taggipothondi lendi. Fundin raakapoyina oncampus jobs cheyochu. That is a good way of getting experience.

    kaani kontha mandi studnets vachindi Chadavataaniki ani marchipoyi 40-70 hrs (per week) off campus(whcih is illegal) jobs chesesthaaru.. 70 per week ante mathi pothundi okko saari.. U mite wanna call the employers as exploitin the students.. But tappu evaridi ?

    somebody has given u false information
    i work for australian tax office if we come to know that any ones not payinf tax on behalf of their eployees we take seviour actions
    if your source thinks they are underpaid why dont they lodge a complaint against them there are people here who wil be very happy to look into it
    if you are doing a proper job i can gaurentee u they pay a minimum of 15$ per hour

    @andhramass:I agree that finnacial ga comfy lenappudu they shudn’t go there. Ettago bathikestham anukunte itla avuddhi. That is true $2 and $4 kooda chestunnaru. And u know what, they are indians and fiji indians who are paying them such low rates in restaurants.
    Regarding cab driving…I don’t have an answer for your question.

    Every student is legally allowed to work 20 hrs/week. Most of the students who are not keen on studies exploit the situation,risk it and try to work 60 hrs /week to improve their bank balance. akkada vasthundi problem.

    ఇలా ఎక్కడైనా ప్రాణహాని జరిగితే వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులు, కడుపుకోత బరించలేక విదేశీ వ్యవస్తను అనుమానిస్తారు. కాని వారి పిల్లలను ముందుగా మందలించరు. ఇవి తెలుసుకొని ఎంత మంది వారి పిల్లలను అలాంటి చట్ట వ్యతిరేక పనులకు దూరంగా వుండండని చెబుతున్నారు. అవసరము మనిషిని ఎంతవరకైనా తీసుకెళ్తుంది.
