Prastutaniki pasthulundi pandagaki parvannam tindurugaani : AP Govt

Dr Kodela Siva Prasad, TDP Leader urged the government to immediately look into the problems faced by the farmers in the State, he had launched an agitation at Narsaraopet in Guntur recently and highlighted the plight of the farmers. Speaking to Sunitablogs, Siva Prasad said that it is rather important, farmers are supplied with adequate quantities of fertilizers at the right time and at the right places during the current kharif season. He says it has been 70 days since the farmers have been protesting and so far the government has not responded and their statements lack clarity. Excerpts from the chat:
“kharif season lo requirement undhi, iyyandayya ante, Rabi kosam store chestunnam antunnaru. Chillarakottu lo bellam aduguthe manchi chintapandu undhi teesukellu annatundhi. Some more reasons cited are, (b) there is plenty of fertilizers at the centre but there are no railway wagons, (c) farmers have been resorting to stocking fertiliser more than their requirement fearing shortage.(d) there is shortage country wide, it’s not limited to the State alone, (e)govt is supposed to give subsidy but since there is no subsidy the fertilizer company has stopped manufacturing it and that is the reason for shortage.
Siva Prasad said that since the co operative societies are in the hands of the Cong men, they have been selling in black-market, and also distributing and diverting supply to the farmers of their choice. “I have evidence. Around ten people have been suspended, many have been transferred on account of serious irregularities. The govt should have an understanding first about the Kharif and Rabi crop. Before the Kharif season begins they should prepare an action plan. Saagu bhoomi entha, enni ekaraalu, ye panta esthaaru, enni ekaralu estharu, ye rakamaina yeruvulu, yekkada digumathi cheyyali etc. The govt has failed miserably on this account.”
He adds, “kadupu mandi raithu roadkekutthunnadu. When they are supposed to be on the field, they are sitting here begging for the fertilizers. They are losing their livelihood. If they put off their work for a few more days, they will have to spend additional money and the crop goes waste. What they need is immediate and sufficient fertilizers.”
The govt when faced with such problems should call all the opposition parties, discuss and decide but dongale veelaithe discussion enti? Adds Siva Prasad. He further states that this is just not complacency but total inefficiency, collusion and an effort to take an advantage out of a crisis. Illu tagalabaduthunte chutta kalchendhuku nippu dorikindhi vaalaki.

He is the no. 1 reason why TDP is wiped out of Narasarao Peta area. 4 terms he has done no development. He has not let any body else grow in the party.
Quite frankly his opponent did much better in 4 years. Sadly TDP is gonna loose in the area again.

Valid points. We already have less supply when compared to the actual demand. IF the that supply directly goes to the needy farmer, it will not be a major disaster. The core issue is: dealers and co-operative society chairmans and chamchas hold the stock and siphon off the allocated stock to black market creating huge demand. They create artifical demand and panic among farmers which adds more fuel to the burning issue.
We dont have proven methods to forecast demand of fertilizers and plan for such stock in advance. Govt do not react until it is crisis and in the end for namesake they are trying to bring it under control which is too late.
We (state govt) dont have authority to produce on our own most of the fertilizers due to raw materials imports and restrictions of central govt quota system. Govt heavily subsidizes the fertilizer raw meterial and import duties. It affects fiscal balance of exim accounts. So they give least preference to this due to other important imports. We need to allocate a special pool fund like for petrolium reserves and import the raw materials under that pool budget for constant supply.
We need to have strong lobby from our state with proper plan with consumption details and need to work for one year advance. I dont think our govt have brains to fight with centre as their priorities are different.

A suggestion. We need to bring the fertilizers under direct government control through agricultural department without involing the dealers and co-operative societies something on the line of ration shops from the age old family driven fertilizer dealerships runnning in every corner of the state.
Agriculture deparment know the current arid and crop situations in the area better and they must sell through a separate system with new licenses and tough regulations like issuing fertilizer on pass book to address the major supply issues for heavily subsidized fertilizers.
For non-subsidized fertilizers we must let it sell in the open market.
It is a hard sell with business communities.. but we need to bring this soon or later. This will contain some of the corruption and every farmer gets some of the govt fertilizers.

Sudhir, What development ‘Kasu’ did in last 4 years can u tell me? We in palnadu never had such a loot before.Even Sagar right canal which once goes to prakasam end became ‘pilla kaluva” because of his inactions…
Just because we had good enough rains nobody is feeling it now. Even with rains palnadu is seeing less crop now than CBN last 3 years because commerical crops need pesticides than delta..
Even YSR warned him for spending his most of time at races(he is regular racer at bagalore and other places) and clubs!!!The only reason he is still minister is because kasu always was with YSR and maintained a wing of YSR’s factionism…
Kodela is Dhuryodhana but this current ruling is narakasura rajayam..As we don’t have any RAM left in this kaliyug,it’s upto you to decide do you want a rakshas or dhuryodhana!!!?

To Kodela supporters here.
All you claim is a road on Kotappa Konda ? This has been done with devastanam’s money. Kodela has not done a thing in there.
Can you show proof of any deveopment in the area during his 5 terms ? I am really interested in knowing.
Ex. TDP leaders like Kondapalli n many more others are in congress because of Kodela these days. He did not let anybody grow in the area.
I hope CBN keep him away from TDP in next elections.

Nehru was once aggressive. But after a loss in 1999 after 4 successive terms as MLA brought in a lot of change. He is trying to be a shrewd politician. Thats why he supported Radha’s candidate in some congress position, lately supporting MP Lagadapati also.
Sry for the topic digression.
