Nag’s performance in SRD is great and he richly deserves the best actor award. Pokiri is a big hit, there is no doubt but it is only a costume movie and there is no scope for exhibition of histrionic talent. SRD ran on Nag’s fantastic acting despite weak script and poor direction by KRR. Carrying that kind of movie these days is really a herculian task. Pokiri kind of movies are only masala movies and they can enjoy only success at box office nothing else. Kudos to MS Reddy and his team. This year every body is happy with the awards.

At least in Pokiri he has mouthed some dialogs which are more that two lines in length and ppl have enjoyed his acting but what did he do to get an award for his acting in “ATHADU”??? @aditya: u r right, i 2 wondered what he did in athadu to deserve an award, but doondy was definitely not the reason. but if we were 2 believe that ‘if for every mahesh there is a doondy, there is definitely an xyz for every actor’. ultimately talent never gets its due. At the cost of being unapologetic, i felt godavari was a far better film than bommarillu and nag though a splendid actor, a definite no this time. Well, it’s my personal opinion purely.

I dont care about other awards , but i think best actor and best music director awards are a dissapointment.
Best Actor: I think this should have gone to NTR for his great performance in Rakhi. Nag was good in SRD but NTR performance was far superior.
Best music Director:
This should have gone to Keeravani. I am completely convinced that without his music SRD would have been a dud. His music took the movie to the next level. His music in SRD is mesmerising. I dont understand how godavari music is even comparable to SRD. God bless the jury

Rakhee? Is it a movie at all. Loud acting, un convincing plot. Except Jr NTR’s two three fantastic dance bits nothing is there in the movie. Krishnavamsi miserably failed in his attempt.If not nag who else was deserving actor. SRD ran because of Nag’s excellent acting capabilities dspite weak plot and poor direction by KRR. It is very difficult to carry such movies that too these days. Industry hit is not the criteria for selection of best actor. Pokiri was money spinner but not award fetching movie. For that matter Nag did not get best actor award for Shiva ( Which was definitely a better made movie than pokiri and industry hit at that time). Award went to kamal. Mahesh has to consider himself lucky to get award for atadu which is out and out masala movie with some decent comedy from brahmanandam.

If u care abt acting prowess , go and watch Bhairawadweepam, go watch Chennakeshava Reddy. Ull know what an actor NBK is. Go watch Okka Magadu, although the movie is absolute crap, NBK did a fantastic job. Mana current telugu industry lo mass nunchi Mythology varaku anni characters cheyyagala actor evado cheppu. Evadaina unte , thats one and only NBK.NBK last 5 movies parama chettalu ayina, his acting histronics are the best. Yes it was a blockbuster.. With record breaking collections and setting a new trend.. It went on to be.. The biggest hit ever!!! However he didn’t get an opportunity to prove his acting abilities.. Or let’s put it dis way.. Da character didn’t have the scope for him to get the best out of him!!!
I would’ve agreed wid Ur opinion if he was ignored for Athadu… But I don’t think tht Pokiri was one of his best performances as an Actor!!
