Morning Show Muchatlu - Okka Mogaadu
With a pompous title like Okka Mogadu, and a die hard fan of the Nandamuri clan handling the ambitious project, one expects nothing short of a grandiose film. The hype preceding the film’s release about Balakrishna playing a dual role had expectations soaring but a clichéd plot and characters with a weird make up (Simran and Sr NBK) intended to give a natural look mars the enthusiasm of the movie goers on the opening day. The film however illogical makes it a worth watch for only one reason…Balakrishna.
Never has the actor looked so young, so good in the recent years and never has he blended so beautifully in the director’s line of thinking. Brilliantly portrayed the senior simply roars onto the screen and dominates the central segment of the movie leaving the junior with some duets. Poor direction has plummeted the actor’s career graph of late but this one film with his dances and dialogues will silence his critics and mimicry artistes who’ve had a field day imitating him.
Simran is the centerfold of the piece. There are a host of other cameos from actors, but really it comes down to these three. A refined version of Bharateeydu, the music is delightful and infectious and dialogues pack substance and lend credibility to the part pre-independence drama.
The camerawork is beautifully integrated and the angles used in the songs/setups are wonderful at sucking the audience into the scenes. Style drips from every frame. A lot of love went into the production values of this film.
Violence is restricted to a minimum and certain sexual innuendos and conversations from Anushka and Nisha fall short of perversity. Their characters are ambiguous and pre-eminently their job is to lust for Balakrishna. YVS Chowdary would have been a happy man instantly had he chosen a simple romantic cum action story but with the complicated plot he will have to play the waiting game and depend on Balakrishna’s charms alone to become the winner of the festival films.

I never ever expected you to write such a partisan review ……..Even hardcore balayya fans admit to the fact that it is a really mediocre film and that it dampened their spirits big time.
However,I dont understand what you stand to gain by giving a so called “Subjective review”. Ultimately, after a few days, you will realise that you had been better off being honest and really subjective.

What is subjective review ? she is even spoiling the reputation of paper like “The Hindu”. Go through her recent reviews. You will know about the venom she is spreading against some heroes.
@teja: If i am spreading venom against some heroes, why don’t you do a few things. One, write a strong worded letter to the editor hindu telling them that I’m unfit for the job (i will give u the phone number too) , and attach your resume as a potential reviewer. Also give an explanation that a review is directly proportional to the box office collections citing how my reviews don’t match public opinion. That a review has to be anti-Balakrishna, anti-Okka Mogaadu. Next, na laaga oka blog ettukuni spread ‘nectar’ instead. BTW have you realised something, by commenting so much on OM, you are admitting that it did have an impact on you..albeit negative. Chill! ! !

Time and again she is showing this attitude. Not only reviews she is adapting the same kind of attitude and sarcasm about some heros in other coverages also. Sunita I am writing against OM because now i know the fate of the OM. I never commented any any thing adversely when you wrote positively before its release becoz i did not know any thing about OM at that time. In your case you could not even digest the commercial success of DON even when its revenue indicated it. Finally I got a chance to watch OM. This is my first movie of Bala after hist first movie DK (disco king). This will keep me for another 15 years or so to watch this dude’s movie again. Hopefully by then this guy is DONE.
