Ramoji is the favourite whipping boy
It was supposed to be a press conference convened by Suman and every paper had the freedom to use it on the front page but others desisted and Sakshi grabbed it. Which is a burning issue? Where it needs to be placed? How many columns do we give it? etc are the lines on which a story is carried in a news paper. Well, for Sakshi or Undavalli …Ramoji’s Ramayanam may be THE story. Tomorrow AJ or Eenadu still have an option to carry Jagan’s Premaayanam but that is where a newspaper’s character come’s to the fore..what it stands for, what it wants to convey. Eenadu has been biased, it had a soft corner for CBN but at the same time it never hit below the belt or resorted to a villification campaign of YSR’s personal life. Is this the scoop that Sakshi was waiting for? Everyone knows that Suman is not mentally stable and Ramoji Rao has been helpless but graceful in his behaviour when it came to his son. The lines that his father made him sign papers is repeatedly being scrolled as if it’s some shocking news. It happens in every family and people understand that. A visitor mentioned anti-ysr posts will only bring them closer 2 him…correct this too holds good for Sakshi, the more it writes against Ramoji, the more sympathy he gets. Life is a circle, what goes down has to come up some day…

Ravi…cartoonists have a licence to entertain, embellish and exaggerate. Cartoonists enjoy freedom of expression and near immunity from prosecution unparalleled on a newspaper’s staff. You can thus judge the freedom in a country by judging the freedom its cartoonist enjoys. It is said that even dictators, leave alone democratic governments, fear the political cartoonist and his strokes.

ravi: the freedom that a cartoonist enjoys..what i mentioned above is not created by me. It is universal and applies for all newspapers in the world. There are very rare cases and i understand on which a defamation suit has been filed on bloggers…like articles in support of terrorist activities etc…) yes….as journalists we do everything and indulge in all so called unethical practices to gather information which is what sakshi or eenadu does. I interviewd Sirish’s family (not a big deal) for the hindu to bring their side of the story…other trivial remaining matter of the interview which is not acceptable to a newspaper has been published in my friend’s website …www.cinegoer.com and probably a part of it here. I dont need to explain what blogging/rules is as googling will get all the info one needs. But if the motive is to suggest something other than that…..i don’t think i need to speak my mind. at the end of the day i enjoy cartoons any kind….be it cbn or ysr…wht i see is the talent, the art and the message a cartoonist brings out thru his pen. And cartoon aimed at family and it’s impact? For me CBN is not family..or neither TDP is. I feel it’s a lot better than other party’s and i want CBN to be the CM. It ends there.

I was reading in BBC that America’s Superpower status will be challenged by India and China in 25 years and come back and read our newspapers with these kinds of articles. I cannot help and think myself how far fetched that could be. How can be a relationship issues between a father and son be front page item. It is not like they involved in Public life (Infact none of the business they are running is public and will not affect any shareholders) and i cannot believe there are still people supporting it. You know i was fed by newspapers and politicians, movies and studies that our family system is best in world and that is unique to India. I really started questioning that in recent times and started realising that it is one of many hypocritical believes that we carry as Indians.

See no sane person at least with a bit of conscience said it was wrong when Undavalli and others criticized about Ramoji mishandling Margadarsi funds and occupying land to build his film city, at that time no one said it is wrong to bring as it really concerns public . people either believed him or through it is kind of political revenge that is it. Writing about possible corruption is different to wring about family affairs.

Eenadu uses it very efficently to target people even in cartoons and it is most selling point of the paper for many years.

“Uncle chadhivaara naa rachana?” asked suman
“Koncham busy ga vundi chadavaleka poya babu”

“Uncle chadhivaara naa rachana?” asked suman
“Chandhiva babu, chaala bahvundhi neelo oka manchi rachayitha dhaagunnadu”
Suman was delighted

“Yevandi, mana Suman Etv choosukunta antunnadu”
Ramoji replied “Sare kaani koncham vaadi sontha paithyam thaggisthe, aa bhadhyatha ivvochu. Oka professional company nadapaali ante sontha interests pakkana pettali..customers ki yedhi ishtamo adhi ivvali, emotional decisions theesukovadhu…kaani mana vaademo thingarodu”
Mrs Ramoji replied “Peddaga anakandi vaadu bhaadha padathaadu, okka avakaasham ichi choodandi, Please ani naa maata vini”

By publishing news of ramoji rao’s family matters on the front page, it simply shows the quality of sakshi paper. Hope one day the same newspaper will be modest enough to publish the entire family history YSR & family (owner of sakshi newspaper).
But at the end of the day, people would be very happy to not to see Suman’s face on ETV for every minute. He has turned ETV into Suman TV.
