It’s unfortunate: Murali Mohan
Murali Mohan who has been an active participant in all TANA programmes terms the recent fracas in the association as an unfortunate event. Talking to Sunitablogs, Muralimohan says he has a message for the TANA members, “Please solve it like a family problem. You all are educated, considered the cream of the State, daya chesi settle it amicably and restore the pride to the telugu community. If you want any help from our side, we are willing to come there to discuss it or if you want to come, you are welcome. Idhi telugu vaala total pride, it’s not about one party or community. “

I dont understand what makes him to come forward now in TANA’s issues just being active participant. I was not surprised to see MM talking up on this issue since he never stops lobbying for Kamma caste. Even in Ramoji’s margadarsi finance he took up the issue in Kamma sangam meetings openly that we need to save Kammas and kammas businesses. May be he thought its NRI Kamma sangam?? I dont know why he is responding to offer help when TDP itself said we have nothing to do with their business and its their internal matter.

Read the latest Press release from Komati. Did he lost his mind? He keeps on contradicting every sentence at his own stature. By giving such kind of press releases with senseless reasonings based on the so called laws and by laws they bringing down the image even lower.
I wish someone in the past leadership and TANA founding member trust act up and stripdown these leadership and their relatives and so called friends from taking up any future post in TANA and ban these people from these associations permanently so that we can keep some faith in NRI cultural associations. It is a shame.
PRess release from GA:
Please DISREGARD the press release issued by “Chakradhar Voleti” yesterday CLAIMING that a meeting of the TANA General Body took place yesterday in Atlanta, GA. NO SUCH MEETING OCCURRED.
That is not to say that a small number of people (numbering only about 100) didn’t meet in Atlanta. They did. But it wasn’t a meeting of the General Body of TANA because the bylaws of TANA do not provide for meetings of the General Body except every two years at the Conference. Even when the General Body meets at that conference, the TANA bylaws provide that they may NOT take any binding action.
More importantly, even if such a meeting could have been called, this particular meeting did not satisfy TANA’s bylaws, Maryland law or even fundamental fairness which requires that adequate notice be given to all members of TANA. This was NOT done. The email list which the recently removed president of TANA, Mr. Prabhakar Kakarala, used to send out his various emails proposing yesterday’s meeting, does NOT contain all of the members of TANA. No other manner of notice was used by Mr. Kakarala in his requests for the meeting to give notice to the members that are not on the email list.
Finally, even if proper notice had been given, which was clearly not the case, Mr. Kakarala and his miniscule group of supporters (less than one percent of the members) did not constitute a quorum by even a stretch of imagination.
To understand what is really going on here, we are providing a list of some of the people behind the Atlanta farce:
Ravindra Alapati currently suing TANA
Ramakrishna Koganti currently suing TANA
Srinivas Lavu currently suing TANA
Ravindra Madala currently suing TANA
Chakradhar Voleti currently suing TANA, signatory of press release
Ramamohanarao Vadlamudi currently suing TANA, has sued TANA before, campaigned for Ramakumar Nadella who lost election
Ranakumar Nadella lost election in 2007 for Executive Vice President
Prabhakar Kakarala former president of TANA,
removed as the president on 9/25/2008 in the best interests of TANA
Based on the foregoing, it would appear that the meeting in Atlanta was orchestrated by a small number of people bent on taking control of TANA and its assets and foisting their own agenda on the membership of TANA. The very small number of people attending that meeting and that the meeting was being led by the people actively suing TANA for their own ends should tell us the true story behind this meeting. The so-called resolutions from that meeting do not have any validity or recognition.
TANA Governing Board continues to move forward its agenda of service to Telugus in US and elsewhere. We thank you for the support that you have offered in this difficult time for the organization and hope to see you at the 17th TANA Conference in Chicago.
Best Regards,
Jayaram Komati
Interim President

Point out one contradiction? What are you talking about? This is clearly a violation of the bylaws. That kakarala guy contradicts himself in a multitude of ways, and the guys who all went to this meeting are all suing TANA. Since when do 100 people stand in for 30,000?
Ejecting that guy seems to the most productive thing TANA has done in awhile. Go read the “minutes” of the meeting, it is not only in atrocious English, but presents some atrocious logic as well. When the president of an organization is in league with people suing that entity, s/he is NOT working in the best interests of that entity. IF for that reason only, Kakarala and his minions should slink back under whatever rock they crawled out from. He and his backers are the ones making idiots of TANA. He DOES NOT have the endorsement of the general body of TANA, or even a simple majority. If he did, then why did only a handful of people (not even locals) show up for this farce?
Answer that or shut up.

“Okkari Kosam Andaroo-andari Kosam Okkaru”. This was the motto of a meeting held by Kammas at Kamma Sangham a few months back. The agenda of that meeting was to conglomerate community strengths to fight and protest against YSR’s government. Murali Mohan was the chief attraction in that meet. Keeping the minutes of that meeting aside, a few months after that- Posani Krishna Murali said on a TV channel that rich Kamma never allow a poor Kamma to grow. He rolled that due to his habitual hurried speech. That has sent wrong signals about the unity of Kammas. That turned an apparent tool for many to disturb the unity of Kammas by developing internal clashes among them.
Similar thing is happening in USA as well. Thanks to TANA that is boasting the pride of internal clashes among the same Telugus and to be precise among the same community people. TANA never gave scope for other community people to play key role in the organization. Kamma chauvinism ruled all these years. Like the Telugu film industry was dominated by Kammas even TANA has been completely dominated by the same groups.
What happens with that? When all educated mobs of same community live together, there will be too many leaders and no followers. This is a natural phenomenon which should be agreed. Everybody wants to become leader and hardly anyone likes to follow the other when same community people live together for longer time. TV9 made big news out of this TANA clashes and sent many wrong signals on a whole. Kakarala Prabhakar Choudary, suspended 20 members those have impeached him a few days back. The popular figures Komati Jayaram, Nannapaneni Mohan and Totakoora Prasad were also present in the suspended list. The new board of members will be announced in July and the next TANA meet will be held in Florida but not Chicago as per the present proclamation.
“It’s all ‘power politics’ that is shaking Kamma community now”, is the opinion of a senior journalist working for a News Daily.

@annoyed: you thought i am supporting kakarla and co by pointing out komati’s press release? Its foolish to see both the parties stoop to lowest levels of personal attack. It fall under the same stub where Kakarla’s emails and press releases stand with mudsliding and personal ego clashes attached to an association.
As a layman if we go into the details of each email you guys forwarding and relasing it to press, one can raise many questions. But I dont think a common person interests are being the question of the hour since you guys already on an agenda to prove their own.
If you are attached to TANA or what so ever person, why dont you guys leave TANA and settle scores outside and handover this to some one new? I am saying this being a member.

@pandu
as a member if you are pointing MM about lobbying for a particular caste, which caste you are supporting?
you are listening from the local meets and felling that you can talk about the caste as you like.
Be careful
pandu | Oct 7, 2008 | Reply
@kakati: I am responding to MM’s interview since I felt it that way since his past actions and words speak it up that way. I am not criticizing a caste nor supporting a caste and I am aware of the fate of caste discussions very well being in DBs.

Like every one I also have few questions! Does the governing board have power to remove the president? If so show us where it was etched Mr.J.K? Right there you people lost your argument!!Next why are you people afraid to give the accounts? How much money was missing? Who spindled? Mr.Gangadhar is smart as his name was not there anywhere! But the guys who got inspired by him may be in for big surprises to come!!Some of them may even have to behind bars for supporting illegal things! Some of them may be even personally liable. Those of you who is behind all this mess take a deep breath and see what Mr.Jayaram is trying to do.He is asking every Tom and dick from Andhra to come and help him.Why is he afraid? All those people before criticising Prabhakar Chowdary, ask Mr.Jayaram how many hundreds of thousands of Dollars were swindled. Is there money laundering going on? Did he and Gangadhar pay their hotel bills in LA when CBN came?If paid when did they pay? If paid what money was used? Are these questions unfair to ask? Why did the GB and EC stone walled these questions? Come out clean and answer these questions and few more will be forth coming. Giving press release is easy.To answer tough questions needs honesty and integrity.

Actually Pandu,
All I did was ask you to point out the contradictions in Komati’s mail. I didn’t suggest that you were supporting either cause, just that you made an accusation and showed absolutely no supporting evidence. Which you still have not done. Assuming that is what you meant by contradicting his own stature, which frankly doesn’t make much sense grammatically.
You make a bunch of incorrect assumptions. I am not on the committee, I have nothing against either group of crazy aunties and uncles involved in this mess. As a bystander with a modicum of logic, I’m simply asking what you mean by your incomprehensible statements regarding the letter by Komati.
From what both sides have said, even squinting through the horrendous grammar, it is pretty plain what is happening here. The error seems to be on Kakarala’s side, with the double booking of conferences in both Orlando and Chicago and his endorsement of both and his signatures on both conference halls. Holding a General Body meeting to which not all of the General Body was not invited, and to which 100 out of 30,000 attended doesn’t seem to be sound or fair, or legal. Komati points out the history and standing of the attendees who have personal axes to grind. These people have pending lawsuits against TANA and they are raging against TANA.
I have no issues with these people, and when the problem is the violation of TANA bylaws on TANA business that endangers TANA’s funds, how does one ’settle’ this outside of TANA?

No fool beleives that TANA is here to Telugu people, Sorry ,TANA leaders make that organization like that, foolish politics, no surprise that these people behaves like Factionist soon to get power and join into Andhra politics.Whereever we go we heard from people Komati Jayaram, Tothakura prasad, Nannapaneni Mohan, Satish Vemana joining in to potics, its stupid that the members from TANA elected these kind of leaders. please elect the new GB members, save TANA, stop using stupid politics inside TANA, dont use TANA to enter into Andhra politics, who is this Murali Mohan to solve the issues in TANA, dont encourage these kind of caste based people to enter into TANA issus, whatever happend is enough. Shame to all telugu people.

Why can’t a TANA member cannnot involve in Andhra Politics.
Is there any hard and fast rule that when you become member for certain orgainization ,you shouldnot be in AP Politics…..
Why people jump onto that conclusions?
Jalsa | Oct 10, 2008 | Reply
Mr.Sri, There is nothing wrong in involving in AP politics and be a member of TANA. But using TANA to serve your ambition of political or financial gain is a no,no. TANA is a non profit organization and always should stay away from politics. Till today no TANA GB has given the accounts to the members. We need to know how and where the money was spent including the money spent in India and last few TANA conferences. They should give ALL details of the accounts and then let the members decide who telling the truth and who needs to be prosecuted. They may publish ALL the details in TANA PATRIKA.The details must include who were the real invitees and who stayed in the Hotel rooms and their expenses and bills.Who were paid for the tickets from India. When we see all the details of donations and spending in India with receipts we will know what to do with this GB.Untill then no one is going to beleive TANA GB. If they are honest as they say, come out clean or face the consequences. No one is immune.

Mr.Sri, there is nothing wrong TANA people can enter into politics. But they are using TANA as thier political base, and why Komati Jayaram involving Muralimohan, Raghavendra Rao , Bala Krishna in TANA issues, did they ever helped any telugu people here USA? Is this muralimohan helped anybody in india? be honest & dont support the selfish people in TANA. Its shame that these TANA people spent money for Ex CM/ film actors, Howcome they are going to help telugu people here? Nobody can change these foolish caste /political based people minds.

I 100% agree with Satya. TANA means K-gang leaders misusing all the innocent member money for TDP Leader US trips, CBN Programs, Movie Hero Sanmanas…etc. They took it forgranted. We should disolve this altogether
