Uttej was supposed to direct

 The movie chandamama was supposed to be launched five years back in Uttej’s direction to be produced by Krishna Vamsi. Shri Subba Rao master from Kakinada had narrated a synopsis and Uttej worked on it for six months. The stars who were supposed to work in it were Aryan Rajesh and Tarak Ratna. Krishna Vamsi loves to pick up artistes who have slipped into oblivion and bring them into focus. On the other hand Uttej had his fears when it came to this cast.

At that time, KV wanted to make Sri Anjeneyam.The subject which is supposed to wind up in four crores went upto eight..i.e is an excess of four was spent. Uttej said his movie would cost two crore but after Sri Anjeneyam’s result, the project was postponed. Sri Anjeneyam flopped and so did Danger. Rakhi was an okay movie, it got more fame to NTR rather than Krishna Vamsi. So malli Subba Rao ni pilipinchaaru. C Kalyan and Nagaraju took  it up. Now Uttej said he didn’t want to direct. When these guys were in a dilemma  as to whom to take as lead characters, Naga Babu and Chiru recommended Navdeep. . and then Sivabalaji stepped in as the second hero.
