Wanted MLA and MP seats
TANA was originally started with good intention.It was going well till one of our EX.CM who came here for Surgery created a rift between his cast and others.Immediately ATA was born. There is nothing wrong in having two different organizations.In TANA you have voting right if you are a member.In ATA you don’t have that right.Check the E.C members names since it’s inception.Now TANA is being hijacked by certain group of people for their selfish needs.My question is what did they do to the TELUGU people in America.They spend $1.5 million every two years.Why do we have to organize events in CUDAPA, Vijayawada,Hyderabad etc.? The answer is obvious.One person in E.C hails from CUDDAPA,the executive vice president(Next President) hails from small village near Vijayawada.They want MLA tickets for them or their brothers.It is a known fact that the future president wants MP ticket.There is another guy who was EX.President for the last ten years.He wants MLA or MP ticket from Tenali or Repalle.None of these people take a penny out of their pocket.They spend TANA money liberally for their personal needs.This is the reason why efforts are being made to pull TANA from the hands of these people and cleanse it. ..by Raja

all the registrations done this year are already taken…no need of canvassing…

ee TANA, ATA vallu peekindy emi ledu. Ikkadunna telugu community ki paisa help cheyaru..parties hosted by these orgs gives a chance to rich ppl to flaunt their money and possibly look out alliance for their children.
Every yr many MS students are getting killed or injured in accidents. I never seen TANA and ATA helping them..the students or someone have raised funds and helped the victims.
Be it TANA or ATA..its utter bull crap.

I dont see what is wrong in asking for a ticket to contest as a MP or MLA - while being associated with TANA/ATA. Should a service oriented person limit his idea of service geographically. On the flip side if you think he is not serving but abusing TANA/ATA and not serving its purpose - is it not good riddance that he go elsewhere.
I do not get the authors point - when he says they spend peoples money liberally for their personal needs. If there is a person that does that - it is unfair - however - as there is democratic election - do not vote for him next time around. If he paid $30/$150 for your membership - he did not pay for your conscience - you are still free to use it.
Pulling and cleanisng TANA from “bad” people has been is a bestowed periodic/cyclic process - the bylaws allow it - they are called elections. I belive that there is always change - for the better. The author thinks it is more of the same.
I think this is what India thinks between BJP/COngress, Andhra thinks between TDP/COngress and even America thinks between Clinton/Obama - the problem is universal.

Spitfire,You seem to get emotional about the situation.Also you are unfamiliar about TANA matters.There is nothing wrong in seeking MP or MLA tickets.But the guys are using TANA as a stepping stone for their selfish needs.That is wrong and must be condemned at every level. Why do we need to have TANA activities in Cuddapah, Vij etc.If you know why TANA is changing the avenue from FLORIDA to CHICAGO for the year 2009 you would not be writing this one or you simply want to ignore the facts and support those gentlemen.For sure there will be some changes in TANA after next elections.
